Karl Maughan
Karl Maughan’s distinctive works are well-known in contemporary New Zealand art. Having graduated from Auckland University’s Elam School of Fine Art, he has worked on the garden theme for the past twenty years. Karl pulls apart, cuts up and manipulates from an archive of photos to help produce works that evoke a particular mood. Reflecting on his own childhood memories of gardens and the outdoors, his work resonates with the Kiwi lifestyle of appreciating The Great Outdoors.
